High School Internships provide students with intellectual disabilities in grades 9 through 12 with “Relevant Experience & Accountability Lessons” (REAL) while working the job

• Students begin 5 hour work days at Marshals attending staff morning meetings with store Managers where they receive their assignments. They report to the stock room for a day of unpacking boxes, identifying articles of clothing that are then sorted and put on hangers. Some students also work on the sales floor, organizing and stocking shelves and providing customer service support to shoppers

Teachers work alongside student interns providing guidance and leadership training to those who exhibit leadership qualities

On the job training provides students with intellectual disabilities opportunities to experience working in environments where dignity, reciprocity, utilization and making memorable events are the norm.

Working five hours a day with a 30 minute lunch break provides student interns with opportunities to work in teams.

Student Interns have the option to take lunch at 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm depending on the work assignment they were given on a specific day

720Connects values student intern initiative. There are always opportunities for interns to work on different daily tasks during their 5 hour work day.

Student Interns who submit the required documentation earn a fair minimum wage for a 10 hour work week. They attend Financial Education classes and learn money management and investment skills.

Student Interns must fill out monthly time sheets in order to receive a stipend at the end of each month
